PHD on Sciences of Management with more than decade of experience at high level position, Dr Malick Diallo is the current Human Resource in Health MoH Director responsible of strategy definition for high skill human resource availability to respond to the ecosystem need. Dr Malick Diallo ensure also the position of Expert evaluator for the National Authority for Quality Assurance in Higher Education, Research, and Innovation (ANAQ-Sup). He is active member of the Saint-Louis Laboratory for Management Studies and Research, with several articles and papers published in the field of management sciences, particularly human resources management. Emmanuela Alimlim
Lead for the Africa Health Collaborative at the Mastercard Foundation. Emmanuela Alimlim is a seasoned professional currently serving as the Lead for the Africa Health Collaborative at the Mastercard Foundation. In this role, Emmanuela drives initiatives to enhance institutional capacity for training skilled workers in primary healthcare and fosters collaboration among diverse health sector actors. Additionally, Emmanuela has led a secondment on the Nkabom initiative, emphasizing workforce development in the agri-food and nutrition sectors. Prior to these roles, Emmanuela managed collaborations among higher education institutions globally, focusing on mental health and well-being support for scholars. Early career experiences include roles as a Program Analyst at Mastercard Foundation and internships with Equity Group Foundation and Equity Bank Limited. Dr. Micah Matiangi
Director ODEL, Amref International University and HEMP Pillar lead, AHC Program Dr. Micah Matiang’i currently serves as the Director of Online Blended Learning (OBL) and is a senior lecturer at the School of Medical Sciences, Amref International University. With over 20 years of experience in Human Resource for Health (HRH) development, he is deeply committed to academic excellence. His areas of expertise include Maternal and Child Health and Development (MCHD), digital health innovations, and communicable diseases. Previously, Dr. Matiang’i held the position of Dean of the School of Medical Sciences and was the Head of the Department of Nursing and Midwifery Sciences at Amref International University. She currently serves as the Acting CEO/Registrar and Director of Standards and Compliance at the Nursing Council of Kenya, where she provides strategic oversight and leads regulatory initiatives to uphold public safety through quality of nursing and midwifery education and practice. Anne has contributed significantly to the development of specialty nursing scopes of practice in Kenya and remains committed to advancing safe, high-quality nursing and midwifery education and practice, that supports PHC initiative, and attainment of UHC. Dr. Joy Karamana
Director External Affairs, Policy, Advocacy & Partnerships, Lwala Community Alliance Dr. Joy Karamana Mugambi is a Kenyan Family Physician, health systems leader, and Founding Fellow of the College of Family Physicians of East, Central and Southern Africa (ECSA-CFP). She serves as Acting County Director of Health Administration and Planning in Nakuru County, where she has led initiatives to strengthen primary healthcare systems, expand access in underserved settings, and advance community-centered care. Among the first women locally trained in Family Medicine in Kenya, she graduated from Moi University and currently serves as President of the Kenya Association of Family Physicians, championing the integration of Family Medicine into national health policy and professional development. Her leadership extends regionally and globally. She is Secretary General of the Commonwealth Medical Association (2024–2026) and previously served as Secretary General of WONCA Africa Region. She is also a Commissioner on the Lancet Commission on Transforming Primary Health Care, contributing to global discourse on equitable and resilient primary health systems. Regional Lead, Health Networks at the Office of Vice President International at the University of Toronto. Dr. Marie Therese Yaba Ndiaye is the Regional Lead, Health Networks at the Office of Vice President International at the University of Toronto. She leads the implementation of the Health Employment Pillar of the Africa Health Collaborative, which aims to expand the capacity to train primary healthcare workers to meet growing demand in Africa. Prior to joining the University of Toronto, she worked with USAID, World Food Programme, and community-based organizations on climate resilience and humanitarian assistance programming. In those positions, she covered and traveled widely in West and Central African countries. She holds a Ph.D. in Rural Sociology and can work in French, English, and Portuguese. Timothy Kinoti
Timothy Kinoti is a development practitioner with over 16 years of experience across health and education programmes, with interest in technology enabled education, health systems strengthening, and workforce development in Africa. He currently serves as the Learning Facilitator (Africa) at the Africa Health Collaborative (University of Toronto), where he leads learning, and systems analysis to inform health programming and PHC workforce development across the continent. Timothy has held senior learning and impact roles at World University Service of Canada (WUSC), RTI International, and Amref Health Africa, supporting national education reforms, ICT-enabled learning initiatives, refugee education programmes, and primary health care interventions. His work focuses on moving beyond pilots to institutionalize technology within education and PHC systems, align training with labor market demand, and translate digital and technical skills into sustainable employment pathways, particularly for young professionals entering Africa’s evolving PHC workforce. Kenneth Ogendo
Director External Affairs, Policy, Advocacy & Partnerships, Lwala Community Alliance Kenneth is a public health leader and policy expert with a Masters in Public Health (MPH) and a PhD in progress in Community Health Financing at Strathmore University. He has held senior positions across public and private institutions, including the Ministry of Health Kenya, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Living Goods, D-Tree International, Medtronic LABS, Sightsavers, and the Wellcome Trust, where he led strategic planning, policy development, and technical guidance across Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (RMNCH), HIV/AIDS, Malaria, and Community Health systems. Kenneth has played a pivotal role in the development and implementation of national frameworks, including the Community Health Strategy (2020–2025) and the Electronic Community Health Information System (ECHIS), supporting the capacity building of over 3,000 Community Health Workers. He has also contributed to national policy dialogue, including the Persons With Disabilities Bill 2023, and champions social inclusion, equity, and innovative approaches to health systems strengthening. Dr. Gregory Ganda
CECM Health, Kisumu Dr. Gregory is a physician–leader and health systems executive with specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynecology and subspecialty expertise in Gynecologic Oncology. He currently serves as CECM for Health in Kisumu County, where he led a 30% reduction in maternal mortality, strengthened emergency obstetric care, and pioneered the Kisumu Social Health Insurance Scheme (MARWA). Previously, he was Director of Medical Services and Deputy CEO at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH), leading clinical governance reforms and integration of research and service delivery. At the national level, he serves as Board Member and Chair of the Technical Implementation Committee at the Kenya Digital Health Agency, supporting digital health scale-up and system interoperability. Dr. Ganda has championed maternal and newborn health initiatives, including establishing the Maternal and Perinatal Indicators Committee, guiding interventions to reduce maternal and perinatal mortality. Dr. Gondi Joel
Dr. Joel Gondi is a senior public health professional and government health leader in Kenya. He currently serves as the Head of the Primary Health Care (PHC) Directorate within the Ministry of Health, where he plays a key role in guiding policies and programs aimed at strengthening primary health care services and advancing Universal Health Coverage (UHC). Before his current role, Dr. Gondi has held senior positions within the Ministry of Health, including leadership roles in reproductive and maternal health services and as Senior Deputy Director of Medical Services.
