Prof. Michela Nosè

Prof. Michela Nosè, MD, PhD, is a psychiatrist with clinical and research expertise in global and community mental health. She is a member of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Research and Training in Mental Health and Service Evaluation, Department of Neuroscience, Biomedicine and Movement Sciences, Section of Psychiatry, University of Verona, Italy. Her research focuses on psychiatric epidemiology, systematic reviews of randomized controlled trials, global mental health, clinical psychopharmacology, and health services research, with particular attention to vulnerable populations. She is especially interested in the implementation of scientific evidence into routine clinical practice through rigorous and innovative research methodologies. Prof. Nosè has been involved in several international collaborative projects and has published extensively in national and international peer-reviewed journals. Primary Health Care (PHC)/Community Health Services (CHS) Program Manager Aloise is a seasoned project management professional with over 15 years of experience in donor-funded programs, specializing in public health and community health services. He holds a Master’s in Project Management from Jomo Kenyatta University and a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science and Technology from Egerton University. Currently serving as the Primary Health Care (PHC)/Community Health Services (CHS) Program Manager at Amref Health Africa, Aloise has been instrumental in positioning Amref as a thought leader in PHC/CHS in Kenya and convening the CHU4UHC platform. He has led key initiatives, including the development of PHC Act, professionalization of 107,000 CHPs and establishment of over 270 Primary Care Networks (PCNs). Aloise’s prior experience includes managing malaria and maternal health programs at Population Services Kenya, where he successfully coordinated a malaria prevention and response program and provided technical support to county governments. Emmanuela Alimlim is a seasoned professional currently serving as the Lead for the Africa Health Collaborative at the Mastercard Foundation. In this role, Emmanuela drives initiatives to enhance institutional capacity for training skilled workers in primary healthcare and fosters collaboration among diverse health sector actors. Additionally, Emmanuela has led a secondment on the Nkabom initiative, emphasizing workforce development in the agri-food and nutrition sectors. Prior to these roles, Emmanuela managed collaborations among higher education institutions globally, focusing on mental health and well-being support for scholars. Early career experiences include roles as a Program Analyst at Mastercard Foundation and internships with Equity Group Foundation and Equity Bank Limited. Director ODEL, Amref International University and HEMP Pillar lead, AHC Program Dr. Micah Matiang’i currently serves as the Director of Online Blended Learning (OBL) and is a senior lecturer at the School of Medical Sciences, Amref International University. With over 20 years of experience in Human Resource for Health (HRH) development, he is deeply committed to academic excellence. His areas of expertise include Maternal and Child Health and Development (MCHD), digital health innovations, and communicable diseases.   Previously, Dr. Matiang’i held the position of Dean of the School of Medical Sciences and was the Head of the Department of Nursing and Midwifery Sciences at Amref International University.
