Dr. Amos Kibisu, a medical epidemiologist, holds an MBChB from the University of Nairobi and a Master’s in Field Epidemiology (MFE) from Moi University, Kenya. His career took a pivotal turn in 2019 when he joined the Ministry of Health’s Field Epidemiology Training Program. There, Dr. Kibisu was instrumental in the COVID-19 response at the National Emergency Operating Centre and contributed significantly as a Technical Assistant in Preventive and Promotive Health, where he focused on operational research and health policy development.
Currently, as the Advisor for Strategic Information at UNAIDS Kenya, Dr. Kibisu plays a crucial role in the fight against HIV/AIDS. He is responsible for guiding strategic planning and data analysis efforts, and implementing evidence-based interventions. His work, essential in shaping health strategies, emphasizes using epidemiological data to inform national and global HIV/AIDS prevention and control initiatives. Dr. Kibisu's expertise continues to make a significant impact in public health, both in Kenya and internationally.
