Dr. Martin Muchangi serves as the Director for Population Health and Environment at Amref, where he spearheads programming initiatives on the intersection of climate change and health. He possesses a Ph.D. in Public Health, specializing in epidemiology and disease control. Martin brings to the table 17 years of focused experience, predominantly in the African public health landscape. Martin's expertise spans a wide array of domains, from climate change, water sanitation and hygiene to infectious diseases control and implementation science. He has masterminded a variety of "fit-for-purpose" public health programs across the African continent, adapting strategies to diverse local conditions.

In his recent ventures, he has been instrumental in experimenting innovative public health financing models, conducting economic evaluations, and undertaking market research and health related quality-of-life (HRQoL) assessments. A strategic player in global health, Martin serves on the Management Team of the intercontinental FINISH Mondial Program. He is also an active member of the International Coalition for Trachoma Control (ICTC), the Neglected Tropical Diseases NGO Network (NNN), and various global working groups focusing on climate change and health.

Before his tenure at Amref, Martin held key roles in renowned organizations such as Action Against Hunger (ACF), Medair in Switzerland, and PATH in Kenya. He has also served the Kenyan Government in various capacities, including as a Public Health Officer in its discipline forces. As a seasoned professional, Martin is not just contributing to public health; he is shaping its future, leveraging his expertise to tackle some of Africa's most pressing health challenges.
